John Worthing, a carefree young gentleman, is the inventor of a fictitious brother, “Ernest,” whose wicked ways afford John an excuse to leave his country home from time to time and journey to London, where he stays with his close friend and confidant, Algernon Moncrieff. Algernon has a cousin, Gwendolen Fairfax, with whom John is deeply in love.
Set in the early 1960’s in a small American city, this production tells the story of Juliet, daughter of an affluent family, and Romeo, from across the tracks, who meet and fall in love despite the conflict between their families and friends, and the law that struggles to keep the peace.

The new 2017-2018 season for Theater Bartlesville will be coming right up after a short summer hiatus and will bounce back into full swing with auditions, two full stage productions, a one-act Christmas presentation of “It’s a Wonderful Life”, and a Drama Workshop for prospective actors and directors.
