Auditions for Theater Bartlesville’s first fall production are scheduled to take place at the theater, located at 312 S. Dewey, on Monday, July 31 at 6:30 pm. Callbacks will be the next evening on Tuesday, August 1 at the same time and place. The season will open this fall with the reprisal of the hilarious comedy farce, Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig. The show will be directed by Troy Anthony Martin, who also directed Noises Off!
Charlotte and George Hay are on a theatrical tour in Buffalo, NY in 1953 with a repertory consisting of Cyrano de Bergerac – the "revised, one nostril version" and Noel Coward's Private Lives – when they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee!
Featuring Joanie and Jason Elmore as Charlotte and George, reprising their roles from ten years ago in the original Theater Bartlesville production, this show will sport a hilarious cast and a “rip-roaring line-up of comedic craziness” that is sure to cause your sides to ache with laughter.
The remaining roles available to be cast will be as follows: Ethel (Charlotte’s mother), Rosalind (the Hays’ daughter, who is bright and attractive and in her late 20’s or early 30’s), Howard (her good-natured and attractive fiancé in his early 30’s), Paul (a sharp, likeable 30-something actor and assistant to the Hays), Eileen (a budding young actress from Buffalo), and Richard (the Hays’ mature, good-looking and loveable lawyer from New York City).
Theater Bartlesville’s informal auditions are open to veteran actors as well as newcomers. Auditions are designed to be casual and non-threatening and are open to new prospective actors and actresses. The cast will be chosen and the play directed by Troy Martin in collaboration with Artistic Director, Shelby Brammer. There is no need to bring a prepared reading as actors will be asked to read specific parts "cold" with show sides and scripts to be provided. No reservations to audition are necessary; just show up and you will be asked to read. For further information you may call the theater at 918-336-1900.
Show rehearsals will begin on Monday, August 7 and the production will run for two consecutive week-ends, September 14, 15, 16 and 22, 23, 24.
