Stephen King Comes To Town!

Feeling that chill in the air? Is it that first hint of fall? Or maybe the ghosts and witches filling store shelves? Or maybe it’s that special shudder only Stephen King can bring!

Theater Bartlesville is proud to bring Stephen King’s Misery to town, as the second production of the 78th season. This psychological thriller promises all the spine-tingling moments of the book and film versions.

“Much of the effectiveness of this play, is in what it suggests - not in what it shows” says Director Judy McGlasson. “From our set to the special effects, we are using the power of suggestion to thrill and chill our audience”.

Misery is one of King’s more reality based thrillers, and the stage version offers a Halloween treat for the mind.

Playing Annie Wilkes with malicious glee is Victoria Goff, a veteran of local theater. Goff has a BA in Theater from Missouri South State and is currently earning her BA in Psychology at Bartlesville Wesleyan University.

Her hapless prisoner, novelist Paul Sheldon is played by Wes Ramsey, who brings a wealth of experience to his first role with Theater Bartlesville. A newcomer to town, Ramsey has appeared in several plays in upstate New York.
